the problem is that the image is too big. I talked to the guy who made the theme and he sent me a fix. awesome. My problem is that the page (called single-portfolio.php) is not changing when I edit it.
First I dumped the cache in my browser. no change.
I noticed yahoo had installed this wp-cache plugin, so i diabled that. Still didnt change.
I tried to delete the wp-cache plugin and got a blank white screen. figured out through these forums to delete a line from my wp-config file about caching. did that and the site was online again.
But still the page isn't changing! Maybe it's Yahoo I think to myself, so I install wordpress on another server I have access to and how about that - the change takes effect over there! check this out because it looks like what I want:

the problem is I am fixing up this site for the client and it has to sit on their yahoo server.
Is there some caching thing I am missing??
