Support » Fixing WordPress » Old content on my homepage

  • Hi there,

I have my domain for several years already and never had the time to make a proper homepage. So meanwhile I let someone set up a single static page with my logo available under http://www.domain.com

Now I installed wordpress and bought a simple theme. The theme requires to have one page set as http://www.domain.com, that should be the homepage or cover or root or however you want to call it. So I tried to set up the main page under http://www.domain.com and in m admin panel this is the permalink displayed for that page. But if I hit “visit page” I only see my old static page page with my logo on it. After I tried all I could I set up http://www.domain.com/home as my homepage and gave ww.domain.com to a page that doesn’t show up in my menu and that redirects to http://www.domain.com/home. Of course that is no permanent solution and I am at the point that I need to resolve this urgently.

Does someone know what the problem might be? I know I should have deletet all content before instaling wordpress but since I have other sites running I was not sure which files I can delete without affecting the other sites.

Again, long story short: My old homepage is not willig to be overwritten by the wordpress site I set up and keeps showing up instead of the weordpress site that should have the link http://www.domain.com

Thanks a lot for any suggestions!
