I’m tweaking the Theme MistyLook (nicely designed; good looking) but in the footer there are two links: one to the designer’s site; and another link to a commercial web-site (the text says ‘made free by’ Reef Sandals).
Can I delete the link to the commercial site from the footer.php, or am I obligated to leave it there if I decide to use that theme?
If it has a GNU license feel free to do what you want.
I think you *ought* to give credit to the person that created this design.. otherwise it makes it look like you are taking credit for someone elses work. I dont beleive you are *required* to, and it is released under the GPL lisence.

I have no problem giving credit to the guy who created the design (it's a work of art) -- that was the first link I mentioned.
It's the second link I'm asking about -- this one that jumps to a sandal retailer:
http://www.active-sandals.com/
Anyone have reservations about removing this link?
you can change it however you want to...
