   I've used wordpress quite a few times now and I've never seen it run so slow. Anyone guess to what could be the issue? I talked to my hosting provider and they said my traceroute (?) is good and the 'slowness' resides in wordpress somewhere.

   Seems to be a huge hangtime and a 404 on this url

   http://joelongstreet.com/wp-content/plugins/G4B_gallery/G4B_gallery.css

   I get a 404 trying to access it directly as well.

   YES! Thanks for your help. May I ask how you found out it was that specific file, that way I know how to solve a problem like this in the future.

   I use the firebug add-on for Firefox. One of its features is the ability to turn on network monitoring support when it is needed. It allows viewing of http headers, while placing file size, status, load times and URL's all in a nice, neat row where you can spot them very quickly. That 404 stood out like a sore thumb. I'm glad it helped!

   Great, I use firefox a lot to test edit my css but I've never tried out the Net panel. Thanks again for your help,
