OK so I am using the free theme from wordpress "Forever". I was messing with the header & masthead code and deleted it....before I remembered to copy and paste it to a google doc so I'd have it for safekeeping I had already hit update blog and boom it's gone. Can someone give me or tell me how to get the code for the masthead part of the header code in theme forever?
Freaking out here!
Download the theme. Then copy the header code and paste it in. That's what I'd do.

well I thought I would try that last night so first I deactivated the theme then reactivated it...all my "revisions" where still there so I had the bright (not) idea I would delete the theme from my server re-download it and then reinstall it, well now I can't find the theme on wordpress.org theme showcase AT ALL! I can find it for wordpress.com but not wordpress.org. And I just had it! I don't understand how it disappeared from the theme gallery!

Here is the forever theme from wp.com
you can right click / save as any files you need. Then upload 'em, or just open the files with notepad to get the source code

ok thank you! I don't really know how to do this, I like the easy 1-click install from wordpress! lol. I'll mess around with it and see if I can figure it out.
Thanks!
Sure! It is possible to get the whole theme in a package using svn. But I didn't want to confuse you... it's a bit rough for novices!
Dunno where the theme went, why it disappeared from the downloads

well I tried and then when I got all the files uploaded the entire thing crashed. I couldn't even log out! So I ended up having to uninstall wordpress via my server and reinstall everything and the forever theme is now there.
Thanks for the help though!
I'm glad you got it figured out eventually... too bad it was giving you such a hard time.
To answer your earlier question:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Subversion
svn is subversion.... basically a way to check out software packages
on windows I use tortoiseSVN, free software to allow you to use svn
you can download WP builds, plugin and themes, etc. It was a bit rough for me to figure out, but I didn't want to leave you hanging! It's normally not needed for day to day standard wordpress stuff, just handy to know about
The "Forever" Theme has actually never been hosted at wordpress.org. It's not even in the wordpress.org Themes SVN repository. Looks like getting it from the wpcom SVN repository is your best bet.
Glad you were able to get it sorted!

@photomom86, if you return to this thread, how did you ever get that theme? Did it just come pre-installed with your one click install?
