OG tags not being picked up in FB broadcasts

    I’ve read the FAQ about OpenGraph.

    My posts have OG tags in and when posting them manually to Facebook the titles, excerpts and images are picked up as expected. However, when Broadcasting using Social it uses the wp.me shortlink for the title (the raw ?p=XXXX link before the recent version change), the first few lines of the post as an excerpt and the thumbnail image.

    e.g. https://www.facebook.com/BillysBoozeBlog/posts/609663725719211

    Posting to FB via Social takes a long time and can cause my site to become unresponsive, which I suspect is the cause (FB can’t hit up the page properly to get the OG tags).

    Am I alone in this, or is it something that’s popped up before?

    Further testing:

    Broadcasting solely to Facebook, rather than both FB and twitter, seems to fix the problem. I’ll keep prodding when I publish future posts (unfortunately I don’t have a testbed blog setup at the moment to be able to give more useful bug reports).
