• Hi!
We are trying to find the best featured Mac-based weblog Client, for use during a year-long round the world yacht rally. Amazing that the offering is so limited for offline post preparation.

We have tried various solutions, but not that happy with most of them.
MarsEdit… supposed to be the Rolls-Royce, but not very intuitive/Not WYSIWYG
Ecto: last update too long ago; doesn’t seem to work that smoothly
Qumana: cannot even get it to connect online.
QTM: not suited for ‘real’ offline work.

The most promising option is ScribeFire Next 4.0 (A FireFox add-on – it also comes with other browser support). This is the only setup that allows drag&drop inclusion of images.

The codex page needs urgent updating: (http://codex.wordpress.org/Weblog_Client)

    My BIG wish:
Is cross-linking between already uploaded posts (and/or not yet uploaded posts) ever going to be possible for offline post preparation? To do this, a local, offline copy of the blog would need to be at hand, and accessible, to somehow link ‘internally’.

My work-around was to use an application to download an offline copy of the blog to-date, and save it, before setting sail. We can then use the local copy to at least copy the relevant URL if we want to cross-link. And then prepare offline, till the next chance to upload. And then when next on land, redownload the site for reference material for the next leg of the race.

Has anyone any suggestions or a better workflow?

    Thanks
    Peter
