Using the auto-installer from my host MY blog went in fine. Trying to set another installation on a seperate subdomain for a friend and get this.

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost.

There's nothing wrong anywhere with my server. I've also tried a manual install and same problem.

I've even gone so far as to try to insert the sql tables manually so that the db, user and pass are set by me but can't find the sql tables.

    Anybody? Anybody? Beuller?

Check yor wp-config.php. Really. Make sure the user, pass, database, host (most of the time localhost) for MySQL, are correct.

HAH.. ok still not sure what the problem was exaclty but (for future users with this problem) I just went into my SQL control panel and deleted the assigned user and then assigned the same user as another working blog then made the appropriate changes in the wp-config.

If nothing else you at least kicked my brain out of neutral on this one lol thnx
