I downloaded it but now don’t understand the instructions ( on teh install page where it says: Extract this .zip file into wp-content/themes/ – I have opened the zip folder but don’t know where this wp-content/themes/ is
If you are not using FTP then those instructions do not count.
FTP
If your hosting company allow FTP then navigate to the WordPress install, look for the ‘/wp-content/themes/’ folder, inside the unzipped Ocean Mist folder you will have a second folder, upload this to the themes folder.
Admin Upload
If you do not have FTP you need to install the zipped theme from the WordPress admin instead.
The download is not working on the website so I cannot look to see if it will upload ok.
Try login to your WordPress
Admin > Appearance > Themes
Select ‘Install Themes’ and upload, and upload the zip file you downloaded, if there is a zip in the file you extracted upload this instead.
