Number of articles – blog page

    Hi, using version 1.3.7 and got an issue with number of blog posts.

    Open website http://www.audiovideokino.sk and there you can see on front page 1 featured article and 4 another articles. That is wrong. There should be only1 featured article plus 3 another articles.

    On the front page should be overall only 4 articles as you can see on next pages..

    After clicking on “Nasledujúca strana »” (Next page), there are 4 articles, what is right.

    In wordpress admin has in Genereal -> Reading -> View max 4 articles.

    Hi, the featured article is separate from the loop, so it can be excluded when counting how many to show. It will always show as +1 at the top. The max per page setting is for the articles below.

    I don’t know, what I should set in 🙁
    Please, can you write a few sentence guide how to set in this?
    Four articles on frontpage (including 1 featured article) and for articles on next pages.

    Hi majo1,

    Since the featured article is separate from the loop, it is not counted for the number of posts to show. No of posts to show per page if assigned four, the posts on home page will be four(excluding featured article). You cannot show the four articles(including featured article) in home page and show four articles in the second. This is what I think theme author wants to explain.

    hmm I think you don’t understand what i want to say..

    Has setted in WP Admin: Settings -> Reading -> View maximum: 4 articles.

    When you open e.g. Audio Novinky, there are 4 articles. – Good
    When you open front page, there are 1 featured article (full width of content space) and 5 articles. – Not good….
    There should be only 4 articles.

    That is the problem of the loop? Is possible to fix it?

    Because when you open demo pages, it’s working well..
    http://demo.alxmedia.se/hueman/author/alx/ (10 articles per page) / http://demo.alxmedia.se/hueman/ (also 10 articles per page – with 1 featured article..)

    Since you have a sticky post that is old( I mean older than the latest four articles), 5 articles are displayed on the front page. Sticky posts are meant to be published at the top of the front page. If you make any of the latest four post sticky or remove the sticky functionality from the sticky post then four articles will be displayed on the front page. Hope this works.

    I don’t understand how is that functionality coded in Hueman.. :/
    The “Sticked post” is the newest.

    Sticked with function in WP theme options -> Blog -> Featured Post Count -> 1

    Hi majo1,
    Actually no of posts on front page to be 5 has no relation with the no of featured post count. You have set “Výstava audio, video a domáce kino Košice 2014” article as sticky post on the visibility section that is located on the right top of the post page under publish section. This sticky post is older than the fourth article. If you remove this post as sticky you will find only four articles on the first page.
