Also a “Distraction Free Writing” (Full Screen) option in the Editor would be nice.

The number of words shown for the excerpt is governed by the theme you are using. Most themes use the_excerpt() to display excerpts – please see the documentation for this function to determine how to manipulate the length of excerpts. This plugin only swaps out the excerpt textarea for a rich text editor in the WordPress admin area – how the excerpt is displayed is down to your theme.

You should be able to get full screen mode if you use the full version of the editor (by default the plugin uses a stripped-down version) – this can be configured on the plugin settings page.

    Okay thanks.

Regardig the full screen mode. This option (icon) doesn’t show with “Use the full version of the editor” selected in the plugin settings.

Also why is the editor so narrow (in height) ? It’s difficult to work with as you can’t see what you are doing. Setting this “Number of rows to use in the text editor (minimum is 3)” to 20 or 100 doesn’t make any difference.

Please improve the above with an updated release. Thanks! Great plugin.

The height of the editor is not set by the number of rows in the text editor – I initially thought this was the case but on looking at the WP_Editor class, the height is set using a different option (editor_height). This option is set on the main content editor using the value of a cookie, but on all other instances it is set using the TinyMCE default. I’ll add an option to the next plugin release to adjust this value.

I can see the fullscreen option for the excerpt in my test installation (but I can’t see it for the main content area, which is a bit puzzling…). The buttons/plugins in TinyMCE can be configured using the TinyMCE Advanced plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/tinymce-advanced/). If you want the fullscreen button in the “teeny” version of the editor, add the word “fullscreen” to the comma-separated lists in the plugin settings (in the plugins and buttons lists)
