[resolved] Notification when a page is updated (5 posts)

    Hey,

    I've used to work with this plugin a lot but always for normal posts.
    In my current case I'd like to use it only for a certain page. Whenever a certain page is updated I'd like to automatically send its contents via email to all subscribers.

    Any idea how to do so? Is this even possible?

    Thank you in advance!

    @sepp88,

    The only way to send notifications for updates is to revert the post or page to draft status and hit Publish again. You could change the Settings of the plugin so that the override box is checked by default and only have it unchecked on the page you want to send updates for.

    You would be using Subscribe2 in a possible but unintended way so there may well be better options for you out there, I really don't know though.

    Thank you, perfect. Reverting it to draft and publishing it solves my problem!

    Another question though. Is it possible to use a custom subscribe html code for the subscribe form? And is it possible to add a second field to the subscribe form like the name of the subscriber?

    Thank you for your quick response. Awesome.

    So I'm thinking if there is a hook or filter to add a custom form code in my functions.php to rewrite the signup form?

    @sepp88,

    There isn't a hook to re-write the form and add new fields as these new fields not only need adding to the form, but they also need processing and then storing in a table so the database would need to be manipulated.

    Since in most cases this data would not be used by the plugin code I cannot collect it as doing so breaks data protection laws in many countries.
