    Hello,

    I’d like to know if this is possible to have an option for the notification override. Our need is to have the avability to send a notification when we create a new post. but we’d like to not send notifications when we update a post. i know that there is a box to tick for this but… people don’t pay attention to this so I was thinking to something like:

    – automatically send notifictation when we create a new post
    – when we edit and update the post, the box is ticked by default to not send notifications.

    As I’m not a developper any help will be appréciated.

    Thanks in advance

    François

  • @françois,

    Provided you leave a post as ‘Published’ while making changes and click ‘Update’ the code will not generate a new email. Emails are only produced when the post goes through a transition hook from one status to another.

    Thank you for the quick answer. This means that the emails we receive when someone update a post is because we are admin? right?

    @françois,

    I can only think it’s coming from another plugin, are you using Jetpack?

    Well no,

    and what we see is that it is formatted as our Subscribe2 email template.

    @françois,

    It may be a plugin conflict, can you see what happens if you update a post with only ubscribe2 active?

    As I said above, it should only generate an email if the post status is changed, not if the post is simply updated.
