We have a very similar problem, although not sure it's related to the 3.5 upgrade as the plugin stopped working on different sites, some of which have not been upgraded yet.

The plugin log looks like this:

15:29:08: Backing up WordPress path at (D:\SystemData\Websites\e.itg.be\healthsystems/).
15:24:04: There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup.
    15:05:48: Approximately unknown% complete. View uploaded files»
15:05:41: Backing up WordPress path at (D:\SystemData\Websites\e.itg.be\healthsystems/).
15:05:25: Backup started on Sunday December 16, 2012.

In the php log I find this error (a lot for all the different websites):

Dec 16, 14:42:55 PHP Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in D:\SystemData\Websites\abc.de\hsystems\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-backup-to-dropbox\Dropbox\Dropbox\OAuth\Consumer\Curl.php on line 96

The plugin used to work in the past for all the websites. IT did move the websites recently, so that might be related. Everything else works though, so even if it is related, I'm not sure what to ask them. Any ideas what's wrong?

@misterpo - What is your ABSPATH set to in wp-config? It appears to be set to '/' which is what will be causing these issues.

@tbemindt - This looks like a Windows related issue. I will need to do some testing on a Windows box to see whats going on here.

What version of cURL are you using?

Same problem for me. Was backing this up BEFORE upgrading to 3.5 so not 3.5 related. I am on a windows server however.

When will there be a resolution to this? I'm dead in the water and have to find another solution in the meantime. This was supposed to be easy, I thought.

I also do not see the WPB2D folder in Dropbox. Probably because this is a new installation and it really didn't backup.

Hi, Same problem for me too.

    Backup Log

Some files are transferred to Dropbox however it seems to hang occasionally, attempts to resume the backup process. It seems to loop through this process.

ABSPATH in wp-config is set to '/', what should I set it to in order to resolve the issue?

    Thanks in advance

ABSPATH should be set to your WordPress root. Eg /var/www/wordpress setting it to '/' is a very bad idea.

    Cheers,
    Mikey
