First wordpress site and have come up against a problem already.

No matter what browser I try (IE, Firefox, Safari or Chrome) I can't use the Media section to upload simple images.

The flash uploader doesn't work at all (no pop up box) and when I click on the 'Try the browser uploader instead' option all I get is a hash # added to the end of the URL. I've looked the the source and mine says:

You are using the multi-file uploader. Problems? Try the browser uploader instead.

All I want to do is upload images to use in posts :"-(

    Cheers

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
