• Pagespeed insights (desktop) is stuck at 76/100. I’ve tried a dozen or so caches. W3-total-cache is the best, and the actual load speed here in the UK per gtmetrix is now .80 seconds, a great improvement over 3.5 sec and 46/100 originally.

    BUT PageSpeed still nags me that:

    ============================
    76 / 100
    Suggestions Summary
    Should Fix:
    Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

    Consider Fixing:
    Optimize images
    Leverage browser caching
    Prioritize visible content
    Minify JavaScript
    Enable compression
    Minify CSS
    Minify HTML
    ============================

    The thing that is really frustrating, is the “above-the-fold JavaScript and CSS” stuff: over a dozen plugins and not one makes any difference. What DO I do about that??

    A more minor, but maybe more fixable, issue is that Minify does not work for me. The default settings breaks my site, and the non-default settings give “file not found” errors. Any one any ideas about that?

    But the main thing is the render-blocking js/css. I’d really appreciate to know what to do or investigate next with that.

    Many thanks
