WooSidebars
not working with Avada theme (2 posts)

    hi there,

I can't get Woosidebars to work with the Avada theme. I am setting up a shop here: http://www.fabulooks-shop.nl and on the category pages I want to insert a custom sidebar, different for each major category. The sidebar it has to replace is the default blog sidebar, but that one keeps showing up.

I have set up everything according to the instructions, created a new sidebar and added it to a category, while replacing the standard sidebar. The sidebar should be automatically added to http://fabulooks-shop.nl/aloe-vera-verzorging but it just doesn't.
    Any ideas?

    Hi wjweb,

    Thanks for your query. :)

To clarify, WooSidebars works with WordPress core's "dynamic_sidebar()" and "is_active_sidebar()" functions to replace the sidebar.

If the theme doesn't make use of these core functions (which are also part of the WordPress Code Standards), the plugin will not function correctly.

I'd recommend contacting the theme developer with the above information, requesting that they adopt WordPress Code Standards and make use of WordPress core functions for displaying their sidebars.

Please advise if this produces the desired result. :)

    Thanks and regards,
    Matty.
