Envoke Supersized
[resolved] Not working on blog posts page (11 posts)

First off, this is a great plugin!

Please see this page currently in development: http://bit.ly/1cWGO9l

Basically, this is the page for 'blog posts' as set in the Reading settings. For some reason the photo, which works on other pages like the 'products' page, does not work for this page. The loading spinner displays but the image fails to load.

I would appreciate any insight you might have on this issue. Thanks for your time.

For some reason, on this page, the code that sets up supersized in not output. Would you mind downloading the plugin zip from here http://files.cmm.io/9BYx/Ex8h2hGy and trying that version? It has a few additions that will output HTML comments based on what is happening, and will give me a better idea of where to start.

Also, make sure that your theme is calling wp_footer() on all the page templates at some point, as that is required for the correct output of the plugin.

I've got wp_footer() on all page templates just before the body tag. I will install this new version and report back. Thanks!

I've uploaded the plugin, also turned debug on. Have a look and let me know what you think. Cheers.

I'm thinking there might be a bug with the wp_count_posts core function, that is causing the plugin to thing that there are no slides by the time we get to the wp_footer action - I've made an update to the plugin, that will hopefully work around this until I have a chance to see what's going on in core. Can you test out the new version of the plugin and see if it works for you? You can download it here http://files.cmm.io/j4UE/3bLSYCDG

I've uploaded that version, doesn't appear to fix the issue. Thanks for taking a deeper look.

I'm looking at the same link, and don't see the newer version of the JS uploaded, and still see the debug output from the first version I sent you. Is it possible you accidentally uploaded the incorrect version? If you'd like, you can email me a skype username or some other means of direct message at chris (at) envokedesign.com and we can continue to troubleshoot.

Just realized another potential issue in a separate part of this plugin that could have caused the issue. I've made another fix and if you don't mind testing, you can get the updated version here http://files.cmm.io/TlJr/kVfWz9rv

I really appreciate you taking the time to help debug this!

I just deleted all of the files in the envoke-supersized folder and uplodaed the zip you sent. I note in the linked zip it says the version is 2.1.1

For others following along, this issue has been addressed in an upcoming update of the plugin according to the developer. Currently it is not possible to set an image for an archive page, though hopefully that may change in the future.

Kudos to the developer for being super responsive and helpful at troubleshooting this!
