This was working fine but now when trying to checkout the page never redirects to paypal and I’m emailed an error notification that says:
There is a problem with your PayPal Express Checkout configuration.’

    SetExpressCheckout API call failed’.
    Error Code:
    Error Severity Code:
    Short Error Message:
    Detailed Error Message:

I updated to Woocommerce 2.1.9, but I think it worked after doing so.

If you’re not getting any actual values for those error messages it seems like the request to PayPal must not be working at all. Has anything changed on your server that would effect HTTP requests?

No, not that I’m aware of.

Are you still having this problem? It seems as though it may have been a temporary PayPal server issue.

No, it’s working now. What is strange is that I reverted back to the standard woo commerce paypal method and that worked when the express option would not. I turned the express method back on the following day and it was working.

That’s interesting, but good news I guess. Let me know if anything else comes up!

I am currently getting the blank “paypal express checkout error notifications”…is there anyway you can help track down what is causing this?

Not sure what you’re saying. Do you mean you’re getting an email about that, but then the fields in the email are blank?

Yeah, like I describe in my first post to this thread, an email regarding the error but there are no values for the “error code”, “error code severity”, etc.
The error seems to come and go – sometimes not allowing people to purchase but then working fine an hour later. Do you still think it’s a temporary Paypal server issue?

Do you have logging enabled in the plugin settings? I’d need to get a look at the log file located under /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/logs/ to see what might be happening.

I have a log from yesterday when the error came through – how should I get it to you?

Contact me directly and then when I respond you can attach it there.
