Support » Fixing WordPress » NOT use index.php

  • A quick question I hope someone can answer.

I have a site that already has – and is actively using – index.php. They want a blog add-on, but they want wordpress to be in the same directory as this index.php file. (so instead of http://www.sitename/blog, hey want the blog to appear at “www.sitename/”). I can’t move the current index page into WordPress, as it is heavily integrated with another CMS system.

I know I can leave the WP install in the lower-level directory, and have it appear as if it’s in an upper level – but is there any way to do this *without* having the file name of “index.php” for the call to the blog header?
