Not showing posts on Index

    hi

    I want that my index page won’t include the newest posts in my blog.
    I want to convert this page into a normal Html page.

    My problem is that when I change the file index.php, which is located in:

    /WP-CONTENT/THEMES/MYTHEME/INDEX.PHP

    it changes the categories pages as well.
    (I want that the categories pages won’t be changed)
