Hi,
i want to disable showing of comments form on different pages earlier i used to uncheck
Allow Comments checkbox
but since the time i have installed 3.1 it is not showing please suggest i have tried disabling comments all together from settings>discussion
but that didn't work
please recommend

I'm having the exact some problem. It's literally disappeared. I have also tried disabling comments.

try 'screen options' near the top right of the 'edit post' or 'edit page' page - this should allow you to get the 'discussion' section to show below the editor window

For my blog, this is not a solution at all as "Editor" users don't see the Discussion option in the Screen Options. What about them? Every time an editor saves a new draft, those "allow comments" and "allow trackbacks" options are NOT enabled.
Where/how can I set them up to be enabled by default?

Are you using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster? No? Then post a new topic.
