Hi there,
I've just created a new sidebar and assigned to a single page (the blog page), added the widgets that I wanted. I'm not seeing the custom sidebar though.
I'm not sure how I can give you more information that might help diagnois the problem. I've tested in Chrome23 and IE9 with same result.
Thanks!

Arrgh. Hate this but, I tried on other pages and it works fine.
At issue is my using TwentyTwelve, and I created a page called 'news', then pointed (settings/reading) the blog page to the 'news' page.
This is a very limited site in that I only have about 5 pages. I think what I'll do is have the default (WP) sidebar be the one serving the news page since that's already working. I'll then create a custom sidebar for the other pages.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi,
That sound alright to me. Replace the default sidebar with a custom one on each page. That should do it.
