• This is frustrating, really is…

I wanted to update to 3.1.4, so when I did that manually, I accidently deleted my wp-config.php file, when I did that, I went to Cpanel and created new DB and Username of the same name as the older ones (I deleted the older ones because I dont know their password), and after entering the DB name, username, and password, it installed the wordpress platform and my rich website now appears like a new default website.

Note that my Wp-content folder still has all plugins, posts, and themes, but my site still looks like a new, empty one.

  • You deleted the original database that contained all of your content & settings and you’re wondering where your site went? You deleted it! It was all in the database.

Do you have any backups of the old database?

No I don’t have any backups, but I still have my Wp-content in my root folder, won’t that help, because it contains everything, from posts to images to themes to plugins.

No – it won’t help. All of your content, plugin settings and them info was in your database. Have you asked your hosts if they have a backup copy of your deleted database?
