I am totally lockd out of my Blog. I have received a couple of comments that needed to be moderated, and when I went to log in I was tolk my password was incorrect. I only have one account in my blog, which I use as admin/blogger/moderator and I have only used one email adress in my blog.

I am still getting requests to moderate the blog, but have not received any emails to startthe password reset process. The blog is hosted through my Network Solutions website at http://0344281.netsolhost.com/WordPress1/, my email is LSandeen@synergisticesolutions.com. I can get to the blog files in my websites httdocs directory.

It is possible that I missed typed my email somewhere, but I beleive that is unlikely. Does anyone have a sstratgy for me to try.

I have tried using this page, here are my issues with each selection:
1 - I don't have access or cannot find the admin panel.
2 - I try the automatic emailer, but the emails do not come through, and I have checked spam/junk inboxes. Either the email in my blog was entered incorrectly or I have been hacked.
3 - I am not sure how the MySQL MD5 hah works, but I don't appear to have access to a MySQL Command Line
4 - I do not beleive I have phpMyAdmin access to the database - It does not appear o reside on my Windows 7 OS and do not know how to install and set up to access my wordpress blog database
5 - I do have FTP access, but the only functions file that I find is in java script not php, and it does not appear to be associated with a theme.
6 - I tried the emergency password reset script, but was unable to get it to execute, partly due to problems with the browser access line - http://example.com/emergency.php which I interpeted to be http://0344281.netsolhost.com/WordPress1/emergency.php and did not work. I tried other variations, but neve got the code to run. In addition, this only appears to send an email to the administrator email, which is what is not working currently.
I will be working to research all of these a bit more, but any insight you can share will be greatly appreciated.

Contact your hosts for assistance with accessing your database.

Netowrk Solutions has said that this is a Word Press issue.

read the link above - really read it
if you can't do any of that stuff, then, honestly, you shouldn't run a website
also, if a host can't help you with accessing your database then get another host

    Samuel,

Your comments seems a bit elitist to me. I am starting up a new business and living on a budget. I do not have the time or money to do all that I wish to do, including becoming expert in php, wordpress, java, and html. I also cannot change hosting sites on the flip of a dime. There is a bit of a learning curve for me.

In general I am self sufficient and helpful when I can be, however, I rarely get told that I shouldn't be trying to do this......most folks are very helpful in the community I collaborate in. My biggest concern is not to do damaage as I work to resolve this issue.

Have a good day - and by the way I have been reading the link in detail and trying to resolve the problem on my own.

    sorry you took offense
I didn't ask you to learn php or mysql - helpful but not necessary

all you need to be able to do is use an ftp client or your host's file manager
be able to open and save a file
that stuff has been needed to know since the early 90's for webmasters

so I don't feel I'm being elitist at all - it's basic stuff to run a website

I am not really offended, so don't worry about that. I have been working with the FTP side of this, but the file names and paths do not match, and I have had trouble with that. I was able to get phpMyAdmin to let me look at the users, and found part of the problem - the URL and email both have an extra character, so I fixed that - I think and am waiting for a password reset email. I know that I have too many balls in the air - and this one has been falling to the ground over the past 36 hours - by the way NS called with a customer satisfaction call about an hour ago.

I did get in and reset the password.

The link you sent me last night I had found earlier yesterday, so I had spent a number of hours working with it prior to my initial post. One of many things I did not know is that phpMyAdmin is already installed on the NS website and has access to the WordPress Database. I finally figured that out by typing "MySQL" in the windows start search box and it brought up a document from NS with some good information. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally.

At this point I have several unanswered questions:
    1. What caused my password to fail initially?
    2. How did both my URL and email get corrupted in my wp_users table in the database.

Thanks for your help and have a great day.

not sure about #1 as it seems to happen occasionally and randomly to some folks

if #2 is true - as in Changed - not corrupted, I would be slightly concerned about a hack

    online security check
