Not displaying on custom post types

Hey,
Using this plugin on a website where I have multiple types of news. Most of these are using roughly the same layout with shared footer line for displaying the related posts box.
I’m using PHP to init the box, but on my custom post type pages it’s not displaying anything.
The call in question is: <?php wp_related_posts(); ?>
Any ideas?
