   I've tried every trick I can think of from the codex, but I just cannot get PressPlay theme to display all nine on my categories in the nav menu below the blog title in the header.

   thisa is the defult code;

   wp_list_categories('title_li=');

   It looks like that area of the site is just cutting off the 9th category. If you change this:

   ul#category-list {
   width:720px;
   height:30px;
   overflow:hidden;
   }

   to this:

   ul#category-list {
   width:900px;
   height:30px;
   overflow:hidden;
   }

   in your style.css, it should show it.
