I had a wordpress.com blog and transferred to self-hosting, and thought that this plugin would give me the same sort of stats as the wordpress.com ones - I successfully installed the plugin, activated it and whenever I go to my Blog Stats page, it asks me to login - I supplied my wordpress.com uid and password and all I get is a repeated login screen - what am I doing wrong ?

PS - my API key is pasted into the stats.php file.....

I get the same exact issue! When I click to my Blog Stats and look for info the screen just goes into a cyber black hole where my pc just goes on and on and on with nothing popping up on my screen.

My wordpress Control Panel and Plug In section all tell me Stats is active and working - that is far from the truth. Let us know what's cooking with this plug in and how to resolve it.

    Thank you.

I have just installed it and have the same problem. I have tried both my wordpress.org and my local wordpress blog logins but neither work. I am told that the password is incorrect...

You need to use your WordPress.com login information, not any other information.

Oh, and it's working for me. I just pulled up my stats. The servers are running fine.

oh beg pardon... It WAS my wordpress.COM address.. not WordPress.ORG. Why are there two different logins anyway? Thanks.

I'm feeling like an idiot. I installed this, activated and get the request for username and password. I put in the same username and password that I use to log in to WordPress. It says the password is incorrect. So I went and reset the password, in case I had something mixed up. It still says the password is incorrect. Confused...

jcsmillie: You use whatever password you use to login to WORDPRESS DOT COM. That's C-O-M. Not org, not your site, COM.

I don't know why people always get this confused... You had to create a wordpress.com account to get the API key, that's the same account you use to login to the stats.

i changed from a sub domain to a domain and the stats stopped working. This is annoying as hell, the API key isn't working now I presume. I have to look for a different stats plugin now ffs.

This is probably a very good traffic package. Unfortunately it's got a serious bug: for many it won't accept their WordPress API key.

See more there. If anyone can shed some light on this, me (and others) are all ears.
