Not Acceptable error

    I can’t upload anything to my new WordPress install. When I try to upload a theme and install I get the following error:
    **************************
    Not Acceptable

    An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/update.php could not be found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    *****************************

    This also happens when I try to upload and insert an image file into a post. I’ve tried everything. I even finally deleted my database removed all the WordPress files and reinstalled. Still get the same error.
    If anyone can help, I would sure appreciate it. I’m dead in the water until I can get this resolved.

    nVivit,

    When you deleted and reinstalled everything, did you try to download a fresh version of WordPress? Sound like one possibility is that you might have a corrupt file in the WordPress package you downloaded..

    Try to re-download a fresh WordPress package and your theme, and re-upload them.

    You could also try to ask the question to your host, as it may be a compatibility issue?

    Hi Andy, Thanks for writing. I’m not sure if I downloaded a fresh version of WordPress, but I will download a new one and try that. It shouldn’t be a compatibility issue because I did have the site up and running and a couple of days ago I tried to make a post then insert an image in the post. That’s when I got the error. Before that, everything was working fine.

    I’m going to download and do another install with a new zip file.

    will let you know how it goes.
