Not able to view page 2 or 3 of my blog

I have many posts on my blogs, but when I select “Page 2”, “Page 3”, or “Next” at the bottom of the page, only the first page can be seen. I found a previous post thread to this issue from two years ago (WP-PageNavi Version 2.72 Not Showing Page 2 (19 Posts)) where the topic was discussed at length with solutions proposed in index.php. My problem is that I have minimal coding knowledge and this is all a foreign language to me. This thread didn’t get me any closer to a solution. Can anyone explain things in simple terms for me?
