Glad to assist. In the latest release we changed jQuery 1.8.3 to load from Google’s CDN in no conflict mode just to run fancybox 1.3.4 since we were concerned that newer versions of jQuery would not work properly with fancybox. However this apparently does not play well with certain themes.

Answers to a few questions can help us troubleshoot the issue.

    • What version of WordPress are you using?
    • What theme are you using?
    • What is the link to the problematic gallery?

You should be able to install the previous version to get things working again while we troubleshoot the issue. Thanks in advance for your time.

We believe that the issue will be resolved with the latest release of RPS Image Gallery, version 1.2.20. In this version of the plugin we are now relying on the jQuery version that is packaged with WordPress 3.6 along with jquery-migrate to ensure compatibility of Fancybox 1.3.4 with jQuery versions greater than 1.8.3.

Give the new version a try (assuming your WordPress install is up to 3.6) and let us know how it goes.

Even after the latest release we still had some users reporting issues with specific themes. As it turns out, in addition to the modifications we made in version 1.2.20, we should have changed the jQuery noConflict setting since we were no longer loading a second copy of jQuery. That issue has been corrected in version 1.2.21 of RPS Image Gallery. Please let us know if you experience any other issues and we will do our best to get them resolved quickly. Thank you!
