I'm not able to search media from the library when creating a page and using "add media" button, i'm only able to add media.

Trying to deinstall the plugin doesn't work.

    This is very BAD!

Thank you for this report; sorry to hear you are having trouble with the plugin. I'd like to get some more information, and I can give you a suggestion that may be of use.

First, when you say "I'm not able to search media from the library ... ", do you mean that the search box in the upper-right corner of the Media Manager modal window has disappeared? By default, MLA adds some MIME types to the "All Media Items" dropdown list in the upper-left. It also adds two additional dropdowns for month and year ("Show All Dates") and for taxonomy terms ("All Att. Categories"). Finally, it replaces the default search box with an enhanced alternative.

What controls do you see at the top of your "Insert Media" popup?

Any or all of these can be turned off by changing the plugin options. If you go to the Settings/Media Library Assistant screen, you'll see the General tab. Scroll down and you will see the Media Manager Enhancements section. You can clear the checkboxes of any individual control or completely disable the Media Manager enhancements, restoring the default WordPress behavior. Does disabling these options restore the search function for you?

Finally, I have never heard of any problem with disabling or uninstalling the plugin. This is a standard WordPress function and there's nothing special in the plugin that should affect it. Can you tell me more about what happens to make this fail?

I'm very sorry you are having trouble and I'd like to do what I can to help. The new (3.5+) Media Manager has a lot of JavaScript code and it's certainly possible that some conflict or plugin defect is present. I hope more information will help me get to the bottom of it. Thank you.

after some checking I found that WPML was causing the problem and added the searchbox too. I blamed you wrong, for that my sincere excuses David! The deactivation of the plugin on my localhost MAMP install went wrong on the feedback screen (new feature of WP 3.5.1, i did not see before??? )

I reinstalled your plugin after the WPML issue was resolved !

    sorry for the inconvenience!
    kind regards, Patrick
