Ok, so i'm new so maybe this is something stupid i'm doing but here's what's happening. i downloaded and installed the latest version of wordpress. it worked great. i could comment and everything...then, sometime after i deleted the example comment, i could not comment. the little link that says "no comments" first took me to the page where the post is at, and then when i clicked it again, nothing happened. so i've reinstalled a couple of times, reset-up my data base it's it's still not working. i have double checked my commenting settings too. it usually only seems to happen after i've chaged some settings, but i have it set so anyone can comment....so please help me out! thanks in advance!

You've got your permalinks all messed up. Also you don't need to add index.php to the end of your blog url and site url in your options.

ok, i tried to get the "pretty perma-links" to work but i'm kinda lost so i just set them without that. is .htaccess supposed to have anything in it? bc i kinda messed it up i think, but the site is still there. and does anyone know how to do the "pretty perma-links" or know of a good tutorial? btw, the comments are working now, so thanks jeremy!

yeah, i've been there and the part about pretty perma links was greek to me and i didn't find it very clear. do you know of any tutorials that work you through it step by step?
