   Please dont jump all over me... i have read all the posts i could about this, and cant make it work.
   I went to "options" "writing", entered my mailserver, port 110, my login name, password. This POP email was made just for posting, and it works fine in outlook express, so the mail account is ok. i hit update options. when i send an email to that account, nothing appears in my blog.
   (i also tried "postie" and that doesnt work either). do i need cron? i did install cron, but it seems to do nothing... i have been working on this for 16 hours, and im going crazy!!! please help! regular posting in wordpress works fine.
   ps. i have wordpress installed in mydomain.com/wordpress, if that matters (it isn't in my root)

   Yes. i sent the email, then i put
   http://example.com/installdir/wp-mail.php
   (with my actual info, of course)
   in my browser url line, and hit enter... just seems to do nothing and i get
   Ooops POP3 connect: Error [110] [Connection timed out]
   i installed cron, activated it, and nothing.

   Were you able to resolve this? I'm using 2.3.1, but getting the same error message, even though I know my settings are right. And while there are a TON of topics about this error message, no one has actually posted a solution.
