   Hi there,
   Thanks for your time in advance.
   In 2.6 and older version, when anyone Posts an article,
   it doesn't provide a "username"...but will provide "username" in comments.

   I have experimented with all settings.
   Any idea's?

   That's a theme-specific issue, not WP.
   You need to add hte proper template tag to your template file(s): Template_Tags#Author_tags
