• I am having a problem with my new users who sign up and have the option to change their temporary password. When they go to their profile and change their password, there is no way to save the information because there is no “update profile” button.

The update profile button is there on the admin’s profile, and it only appears when I upgrade the user’s role to an editor or admin.
Is there a way that I can get this button to appear on the profile page for an author or contributor so they can change their assigned temp password and save their new password? I am using v3.0

    Thanks in advance.

  • I would check your plugins first and foremost to see if by disabling them one by one that the users gain this functionality back.

One way to do this is by using multiple browsers. Login as admin on one browser (say Firefox) and then log in as a regular user in IE or safari. Make a change then refresh the other browser to see if the functionality comes back as you disable plugins.

More than likely there is a plugin which is effecting your user roles that is causing this.

Thank you. It was one of my plugins that was causing this problem.
    I appreciate the help!

Do you mind telling me which plugin it was that was causing the problem?
