No transparency in exact sized GIF/PNG Header image (1 post)

    I have several PNG and GIF images exactly sized at 1000x288 that I have tried using in my WordPress site. When displayed on the site all the transparency is black instead of transparent and showing the background. I am using the WordPress 2011 theme. How do I solve this problem to allow transparent images on my header?
