   I am new to blogging but not new to HTML so I didn't think anything of it when I didn't have any tools in the write post page below the title box and above the post area. I saw them as a screenshot on wordpress so I figured they were a plugin. An hour later I tried something and lo and behold, they appeared.

   I switched my browser to firefox. The tools DO NOT appear in Safari. No matter how I toggle the visual rich editor checkbox. Anyone else note this bug with Safari?

   Read this FAQ item and the one after it.

   Basically, Safari is doesn't handle them right, so they get disabled completely for Safari users so they don't complain that they aren't working like they are supposed to or whatever.
