no theme to appear, only text

    Hello
    I am very new to wordpress
    I am trying to activate themes for my website, but the theme doesn’t come thru,
    my website contain only text without any theme
    I tried several times with several themes, sometimes the background color changes but there is no theme at all

    any advice?
