[resolved] No Templates and missing yop-poll-admin.js (25 posts)

    Just downloaded this plugin, looks like it will solve all my problems perfectly; only issue (and it;s a huge one) is that there's no pre-made templates, and in the admin I receive a JS error stating that yop-poll-admin.js is not found, and upon re-downloading and checking the .zip file, no such file exists or is included in the .zip. Am I missing something?

    Hello Yop,

    Is there a way that i can put yop poll code in my template file. I know i can change the templates from the admin area but what is the code to put it in a template file.

    Please suggest. I don't want to use it in a widget.

    I am using this but no luck so far. This displays the current poll but it is not functional and it does give multiple errors as well.

    <?php
       $poll_widget=new Yop_Poll_Widget();
    	echo $poll_widget->widget();
    ?>

    Regards,

    Maddy

    Hey maddysayz

    If you want to put the poll code in your template file, please use the code below:

    <?php return_yop_poll( $poll_id ); ?>

    You need to replace $poll_id with the id of the poll you want displayed.

    Also, we have some predefined ids:

    <?php return_yop_poll( -1 ); ?> - will display current poll
    <?php return_yop_poll( -2 ); ?> - will display last poll
    <?php return_yop_poll( -3 ); ?> - will display a random poll from your poll list

    Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Best Regards

    Regarding my original post, we finally ended up installing on a fresh install, and it worked perfectly (all templates displayed in admin). We believe this has something to do with the Bulletproof WP Security plugin, however we're not sure. Anyways, thanks for the amazingly quick responses and for this great plugin. Resolving issue.

    I'm doing fresh install on a site without any other plugins and Twenty Twelve theme. Templates list is empty - http://cl.ly/image/0v3E2z0B2A2a
    This list should have some default templates, yeah? Thanks

    There are supposed to be templates?? Not on my fresh install this morning. I'm using a security plugin as well; did these filter them out??

    To YOP;

    Ok. First I updated the plugin but no standard templates became available/visible. Then I deactivated, deleted, found, installed and activated the plugin. Still no templates, but my first poll and attempt at a template were still there (??).

    Looking at the plugin editor, this shows that yop-poll/js/yop-poll-admin-templates.js has a status of "(inactive)".

    Does this help?

    Chris

    Would it be possible to to give us temporary access to your wordpress admin so we can investigate this further?

    If yes, you can email us the details to support{at]yourownprogrammer.com

    Thank you.

    Excuse me while I dry the coffee off my keyboard...

    Perhaps you could install the Better WP Security on a localhost version of WP 3.5.1, then install YOP Poll and see if you get the same issues?

    Hey Chris

    We ran some tests with YOP Poll and Better WP Security and could not replicate the templates issues.

    Do you have any other plugins installed that may cause this problem?

    Please let us know.

    Thank you.

    Hurrah!!!

    Deactivate, delete, ***Then log out***, log back in again, find plug in, install and activate and hey presto; 17 (?) templates (My own attempt from this morning, White through to Orange V3).

    Super!

    Thanks guys! - the key is to log out & back in again!

    :)))))
