Well, I thought I’d use WP instead of blogger for a client’s site. Blogger is restrictive and ugly and doesn’t play nice with the way I code, and it turns out WP -does- have multiple author functionality. (Ding-ding!)

But when I download your new version.. Either the .zip or the .tar.gz… I get a folder full of files, and no file structure. That is, there IS no /wp-admin/install.php there is simply a ton of files all together.

I couldn’t find anything to tell me what files go where, or anyone else with this issue. Is it just some strange setting on this computer (I am at work) that strips out all directories in archives?

  • Some zip programs, such as WinZip, have a setting, “Use folder names”, that cause the folder structure to be maintained when extracting files.

I have it all set to maintain structure.. Can’t figure out why it’s still not working.

However, have managed to get a copy of this release from my friend, so it’s all sorted and uploaded now. Looking forward to messing about with it when I have the time!
