  • I also received a 404 error when I clicked Settings in the plugins list.

Fortunately, going to Settings / Stop Spammers did get me to the settings.

If fixed it. The latest version (5.3) is up at WordPress.org. I fixed this and several other problems.

I have decided to uninstall the Stop Spammers plugin. I really didn’t have a spam issue but though I would give it a try. Over the last year I had seven spam posts on my site. Since I installed this plugin I got an average of 30 spams per day. It seems to attract spammers more than helping reduce spammers.
    Good try anyway.

It does not attract spammers, but it does show spammer login attempts. I am guessing that it is showing login attempts that were stopped in that number.

If you are only getting 30 per day then I’d say you can handle the problem by hand. The plugin is more useful on high volume sites that are targets of spammers.
