   Updated to 2.8 and there is no way to save edits to the widgets. What am I missing?

   Try deactivating all plugins and check to see if this resolves the problem. If it does, activate the plugins one by one - checking the Widgets section after each re-activation - until you find the problematic plugin(s).

   You don't need a save button. Changes are saved as soon as you make them, so a save button would be redundant.
