No Publishing options

I’m new to the WordPress scene, but I have a decent amount of experience using it. I can’t seem to figure out why when attempting to publish a page or post, the box on the right side of the screen is missing, but there is an empty dotted outlined version of the box where it should be. Also when I attempt to view “all post” I get an error message that says “invalid post” then it redirects me to a yahoo search. Anyone having these bizarre issues and knows how to fix them?
