    Our twitter widgets are only pulling feeds a few times a day usually we are presented with

    No public Twitter messages

    Is there any way to improve twitter for wordpress to ensure it is pulling our twitter feeds constantly or is this due to the new api limits?

    @jkirkby

    lines 54 & 168 change:

    $messages = fetch_rss('http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/'.$item['username'].'.rss');

    to

    $messages = fetch_rss('http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline/'.$item['username'].'.rss');

    Then leave it a couple of hours.

    ;)

    What file does that code go in? We're having the same problem.

    Thanks.

    There is only one .php file in the plugin.

    twitter.php

    wp-content/plugins/twitter-for-wordpress/twitter.php

    Hi, twitter have updated their API so whichever plugin you are using you need to find this url:

    http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/

    and replace it with this:

    http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline

    Then leave it for a couple of hours to propagate.

    Brilliant, worked perfectly, thank you.

    This is why we need an abandoned plugin adoption program!

    I've updated the file and I'm still seeing no public tweets. I even visited the feed directly and the tweets are right there.

    Any ideas?

    Yeah you have to leave it a while to propagate ..

    Have you changed both occurrences? I would just double check everything and leave it again.

    That's the only other thing I can think of sorry!

    Yeah, I even had Coda search for any instances of the old URL and it couldn't find any.

    I am not sure I understand. Do you know PHP? If not then you will not be able to do this.

    The plugin Tweet Blender seems to work, and has numerous setting options, some of which relate to API calls.
