Hey folks, I just started a new wordpress site and added my first few pages, (contact, about, privacy, etc) And I added my first post.

I have it set to show posts on my main page, and the post has been published and is viewable by typing the URL into the browser, but when I load up the domain in the URL bar it shows "Oops, That's Not Found" in the post content area, and there are no categories or posts listed in the archives widgets on the sidebar.

Any idea what's up with this? I tried re-saving the permalinks and changing the theme as well.

  2. Have you verified that the Site Address (URL) in Settings > General Settings is set to your homepage URL?

Well yes I did, but going back to double check, I clicked save without changing anything, and now it seems to be working! so thank you for that, even though it was set correctly, clicking 'save' on that page seems to have fixed it!

  4. Glad to hear it! If you would please mark this thread as "resolved" (drop-down menu in the right column) it would be appreciated. Helps everyone keep better track of whose issues are still outstanding. Thanks!

Hi this problem has come back again today, after editing the widgets content, I now am having the same problem, except it is not fixed this time by saving the preferences pagelike I did yesterday.

  7. A couple of general troubleshooting steps you could try:

    • turn off all plug-ins. If problem is gone, reactivate one-by-one to find the culprit
    • try the default Twenty Ten theme (be careful to note/copy any theme-specific and widget settings as you may lose them when you revert back to your original theme)
    • reinstall WordPress, preferably manually

Well, once again doing this has made my website come back..

but all of the plugins are no activated again and the site seems to be working.

That is very strange.. I am wondering if something fishy is going on here.

Are NOW activated again.. I turned off the plugins and the site came back.. I put the plugins on one by one and refreshed each time in between and the site stayed there until all of the plugins are now activated, and the site is still there..

Something strange going on in my install! hahah.. I hope it stays here now.. I'll be adding more content to it tomorrow so I'll find out what happens after that. For now I have marked this as resolved again.
