I discovered today that I can’t create new sites that allow me to post. Everything else in the new site appears to function, but when I go to post or edit an existing post the editor doesn’t display.

I can post and edit on all sites created before today.

I did update WP this morning (can’t remember if it was before or after I update WP).

I tried creating several sites after discovering the issue and it’s the same for each. No plugins active on the sites that aren’t functioning and using the 2010 theme. Also tried in several browsers in case it was an issue.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Can you post on the existing (old) sites?

Yes no problem with the sites that were already installed.

Found it. Was a plugin in network plugins, using multi-site for myself not a network and just discovered that the plugin in question causes issues on some but not all sites. And needs to be network de-actived when in the back end of the site with the issue. Then the post window pops right back up.

Will update after I contact plugin developer and they resolve.

O.K. for others that might have this problem.

I was using a plugin which required the genesis theme framework, but I did a network install from a site using Genesis, so there wasn’t a warning. When the sub site was created it used Twenty Ten as default.

This generated the bug. Solution is incredibly simple. Activate a Genesis theme/Child Theme and the editor will return.

Chances are there will be other theme frameworks that have custom plugins which will respond the same way.
