    Hi,

    I use BP on two other sites without problem. Running WP 3.4.2 and just tried to install BP 47.6 twice. After the install, the only thing showing in the control area is the warning about the .htaccess file, the link to rate the software and the link to upgrade to Pro.

    Ideas? I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the plug-in a couple of times, making sure both times that the plug files have been deleted with an FTP tool.

    Below (hopefully) is an image of what I see:

    Hmm yeah that does not look right at all. LOL
    I think the first thing to try would be to deactivate all plugins and then activate just BPS and see what happens.

    Also is this website hosted on a Windows IIS Server by any chance?

    Thanks for your speedy response. I tried deactivating all plugins and then only activating BPS. No change. This is being hosted on a Unix server.

    I love, love, love what your plugin does so I’m hoping there is a resolution somehow.

    I doubt this has anything to do with cache, but try clearing your Browser cache.

    Next use the WordPress Plugin Editor and edit the /bulletproof-security/admin/options.php file and comment out all of these checks below from Code Line 84 to 91 by putting forward slashes in front of them like this below.

    // HUD – Heads Up Display – Warnings and Error messages
    //echo bps_check_php_version_error();
    //echo bps_check_permalinks_error();
    //echo bps_check_iis_supports_permalinks();
    //echo bps_hud_check_bpsbackup();
    //echo bps_check_safemode();
    //echo @bps_w3tc_htaccess_check($plugin_var);
    //echo @bps_wpsc_htaccess_check($plugin_var);

    Completed. I still have a blank interface.

    Is this a Network / Multisite installation/website?

    (@mark-bremmer)

    No, this is a single installation. I have BPS working very successfully on a two other MU sites, though.

    hmm ok i do not normally offer to log into websites, but i am curious about this issue/problem since i have never seen this happen with BPS before. Please create a temporary WordPress Admin login account for me for this website and send it to the email address listed on the ait-pro.com Contact page. Thanks.

    login sent and additional info via your contact form. Off to buy BPS Pro. 😀

    aha BPS and BPS Pro are not compatible with NTT Hosting since they are doing something wierd with their Server configuration. I think the reason the page will not display at all is the options.php file contains the php CHMOD function and I think this host is doing something FUBAR like blocking the php CHMOD function or some other dumb thing like that.

    There are only 2 web hosts in the World out of 1,000’s that BPS is not compatible with and NTT Hosting is one of them. The other Host is Landis Holdings.

    Thanks for your help! I’ll be migrating this client to a new hosting service for a variety of sick-and-tired-of-this reasons.

    BPS Pro rocks.

    Well if you hate this client then just leave him on Verio Hosting. LOL Yep they are a nightmare Host. I do not usually say negative things publicly, but this Host deserves special mention as a fubar nightmare. 😉
