Hello. I've set up this plug-in, followed all the instructions on the moderator settings etc. and when people comment, the comments appear on the various pages just fine.

    However, I'm not getting notifications.

In the app settings, the "app domain" and "website with facebook login" values are correct. The app ID's are correct. The administrator and moderator ID's are correct both in the app settings and "comment moderation area" settings...but I get no "xxx has commented..." notifications in Facebook.

I also note that in the "comment moderation" tool, the "public comments" area is empty, even when recent comments have been made and are showing successfully on the wordpress pages.

I've searched and followed the instructions in many articles to make sure I've done each and every step...but either I'm missing something or the notifications just don't work :)

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Update: I discovered that the "Slick Social Share Buttons" plugin is also generating blank fb:app_id and fb:admins meta tags and these appear in the header...whereas the non-blank meta tags from this plug in appear at the end of the page.

Deleting the meta tag generation from the Slick Social plugin code eliminates the blank tags and now comments DO appear in the "public comments" area of the comment moderation tool.

    But still no notifications :(

This appears to be a common problem, as documented here:

    https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/575266905848137?browse=external_tasks_search_results_5216421d413e52d25949499

As reported in the above bug, I too can get notifications for replies but not for original comments, so this is probably not a problem with this plug-in, hence I'm marking this as "resolved" (because the problem is with Facebook's app, not this specific plug-in)

Workaround: use "facebook comments notifier" plugin instead, which sends email to you when a comment is submitted. This worked for me.
