My host has informed me that they do not support MySQL. As a rookie, what does that mean? Is there another way to install WP?

Can't change hosts. Hate to ask this, but is there another blog that will work without MySQL?

    Talked to the host.

They are running Microsoft IIS 6, and they support SQL server 2000, but not MySQL.

I'm new at this, so I'm not sure if this helps my cause, or not.

Alas, nope. No mysql or php, no WordPress. No way around that!

You might want to google for blogs that run with ASP or ASP.net.

    you really can't change hosts?

are you in a position to somehow run your own webserver? perhaps http://apachefriends.org can work for you. if I knew why you couldn't change hosts, perhaps I'd have a more suitable suggestion.

So, if they install MySQL, they need to install php, too? MySQL doesn't fix the problem?

I can't change because it's not my site - they just hired me to get some things set up on it.
